What the law says

Under the Equality Act 2010, employers must make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a disadvantage. This applies at application, interview and in the job itself.

Common examples

Interview questions sent in advance, extra time, screen reading software, a quieter workspace, flexible start times, written rather than verbal instructions, or a phased return after illness.

How to ask

You can simply say what would help. You do not have to share a diagnosis or medical detail. Access to Work is a government scheme that can fund equipment and support.
